Clayman Rosenberg Kirshner & Linder LLP partner Effie Blassberger has been named a winner of the 2026 Elite Women of the Plaintiffs Bar as part of Law.com’s Elite Trial Lawyers awards. The award honors women lawyers who have consistently excelled in high-stakes matters on behalf of plaintiffs and achieved exceptional results in complex litigation.
Throughout her career, Blassberger has represented individuals in precedent-setting and high-profile litigation involving sexual assault, harassment, discrimination, retaliation and institutional misconduct. Her work includes representing actress Julia Ormond in litigation arising from Harvey Weinstein’s sexual assault of her, as well as pursuing claims against AHRC Nassau for failing to protect a developmentally disabled individual who was sexually assaulted by one of its employees. Through these and other matters, Blassberger has advocated for survivors seeking accountability from both individual wrongdoers and the institutions that enabled or failed to prevent misconduct.
In addition to her publicly filed matters, Blassberger has also secured substantial confidential settlements for victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation — often in the seven-figure range — against major corporations, financial institutions and organizations. These results underscore her willingness to take on powerful entities and her ability to obtain meaningful outcomes for her clients.
Earlier in her career as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, Blassberger prosecuted more than 600 cases and tried numerous cases to verdict as lead counsel, often representing victims of domestic violence.
Outside the courtroom, Blassberger remains committed to service and mentorship. For more than a decade, she served as a board member of Friends of the Children, a national nonprofit organization that pairs high-risk youth with a professional mentor from childhood through high school graduation.
