Amy Millard is quoted in both The Washington Post and NPR about her involvement in prosecuting Steven Hoffenberg— a former financial executive who defrauded investors in a Ponzi scheme in the 1990s and a former business partner of Jeffrey Epstein. Hoffenberg claims he feels sympathy for Epstein’s victims and wants to help them obtain money from Epstein’s estate.
Millard prosecuted Hoffenberg when she was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. She recalls Hoffenberg as an “extraordinarily arrogant” man who refused to take responsibility for the enormous harm he caused to a massive victims.
