Blassberger Secures Victory In Lengthy Domestic Violence Trial

After 22 days of trial, partner Effie Blassberger recently secured a remarkable verdict for a client falsely accused of domestic violence.

Blassberger successfully dismantled the complainant’s narrative by exposing a pattern of fabricated allegations and presenting critical evidence demonstrating she had perjured herself in the current case. During the trial, Blassberger used strategic subpoenas to call witnesses whose testimony revealed that the female complainant had previously made false accusations of domestic violence against other former partners.

Blassberger also undermined the complainant’s credibility by introducing a recording—captured during trial—of a conversation in which the complainant admitted to providing false testimony. Expert testimony further established that the complainant’s alleged injuries were inconsistent with her account and more likely the result of benign marks.

Reflecting both the rigor and integrity of Blassberger’s trial advocacy, the Court expressly cited this evidence and the substantial credibility issues surrounding the complainant’s testimony before finding in favor of her client.

Aedan Neary, an attorney with Moreira Sayles Ramirez LLC and a former Assistant Prosecutor with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office in Paterson, New Jersey served as co-counsel in this hard-fought victory.
