Bloomberg News recently spoke with CRK&L partner Effie Blassberger about the multiple lawsuits mounted by former New York governor Andrew Cuomo over allegations of sexual harassment, an improper book deal, and mishandling of Covid-19 in nursing homes. According to the article, taxpayers have spent more than $61 million in legal fees to date.

“In most cases, there are real constraints on time and resources,” Blassberger said. “In a high-profile case like this, those limits seem to disappear. The defense team here has the means to thoroughly investigate every potential witness.”

Cuomo has sued five state agencies or entities, and his legal defense and offense involve at least 16 law firms.
