Clayman Rosenberg Kirshner & Linder partner Isabelle A. Kirshner will join a panel of former federal prosecutors and defense attorneys for “Modern Prosecution & Defense of Sex Offenses,” a New York Criminal Bar Association hybrid CLE seminar taking place Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Kirshner will be joined by Teny Geragos of Agnifilo Intrater LLC, Maurene Comey of Patterson Belknap and Moira Penza of Wilkinson Stekloff for a candid, practitioner‑focused discussion from both sides of the “v.”

Modern sex-offense cases have changed as prosecutors have become better resourced and more willing to charge, amid an explosion of digital evidence, communications and social media. Drawing on practical experience, the panel will address defense investigation, the strategic decision of whether to bring a client in to meet with prosecutors, handling the victim/perpetrator dynamic, direct- and cross-examination technique, Rule 17(c) subpoenas, and managing press coverage. They will also review the distinct legal, evidentiary and strategic challenges these cases present.

Kirshner is widely regarded as one of New York’s premier criminal defense attorneys. For more than three decades, she has represented individuals and entities in high-stakes state and federal matters, securing acquittals for clients from the inception of an investigation through trial. A significant portion of her practice also involves representing both defendants and plaintiffs in civil #MeToo litigation.

The program will be held at the Southern District of New York, 500 Pearl Street, Conference Center, Room 6A and offers 2.0 CLE credits: 1.0 in Skills and 1.0 in Areas of Professional Practice. The fee is $100 for the general public and $75 for 18-B/CJA panel attorneys; NYCBA members, institutional defender office attorneys and unemployed attorneys may attend free of charge.
